For the science geeks among us (sorta me a bit as well) regarding
physics, metaphysics, paranormal phenomena.
The big question is HOW?
How does it work, how can it work, how do you reconcile it with relativity
and quantum mechanics.
Well, howsabout string theory. I seem to recall a posit that everything
in the Universe is made of strings. The vibrations of these strings is
what accounts for everything in the Universe - matter, energy, us. I also
seem to recall that it has been posited that there is a Master String,
either that it is this one string, and its vibrations, that is responsible
for the Universe and all it is. Alternatively, that the Master String
connects the smaller strings (explaining for instance how gravity in one
part of the Universe has an effect across the entire Universe) and the
vibrations on the Master String and the vibrations of the smaller strings
have an interactivity.
Suppose this interactivity can be sensed?
Again, HOW?
In the present reality that is our lives here on Earth, within this atmosphere
of nitrogen/oxygen/smog we can sense vibrations. Vibrations in the earth,
the air, the water. This is of course part of our kinesthetic sensory
package that we have.
Now the out there part.
Let's say that some of us, can sense the vibrations of the strings. And
over time, deduce/decipher/decode what the vibrations mean ala future
events, recent events in the past, and so on. But since as we know time
is an artificial construct, there is no past present future, there is
just the ALL THAT IS. What the psychic interprets from his vibrational
awareness of the universe strings as "future" is merely an existing
vibration that is occurring. The rest of us do not observe this vibration
until it impacts us directly (through our motion along the strings we
call time). So what seems like divination, prediction, is simply nothing
more than a heightened awareness of the Universe. Along the lines of some
people have 100 times the sense of smell or taste than the rest of us.

Oh, and if this would be more appropriate in some other theory thread,
by all means move it along the strings of the forum to the proper location.
I will adjust my vibrations accordingly.

Interesting idea. A little out of my league since it contains the word
physics, but I understood what you were saying and thought you said it
very well. I think it's a valuable thought and something we could use
here to explain this "psychic situation".
It will be amusing to see what some of the science geeks on the board
