Look down, you god,
And on this couple drop a blessed crown!
For it is you that have chalk'd forth the way
Which brought us hither.
The Tempest. Act v. Sc. 1
No contact with the outside world, cut off from every vice. What if the island acts as some form of noahs arc while the rest of the planet suffers extinction, at the same time, survival of the fittest rules the island. Could explain the polar bear... two of everything on the island.

Aztec: I don't think they'll be found - they are buried really well. Noah's Ark came up in many many threads. I wouldn't know where to start looking.
Flight: The "two of everything" end of the world scenario was
discussed as in the island as an ark that collects things for preservation.
The actual Ark was discussed as well - as in finding it on the island.
Personally I think that would be very cool to show the history of the
island and the consequence of being trapped on it.
Feel free to browse or continue here. You might get a couple takers.

JacksGirl--I just want to pipe in and agree that I, too, would love to see the history of those who've been trapped on the island. For instance, rather than some convoluted time travel plot that explains the dead bodies in the cave, I'd love to see Amelia Erhart and Fred Noonan as they landed, or some other backstory; especially if it can tie in neatly to the current situation.
