He that dies pays all debts.
The Tempest. Act iii. Sc. 2
Ah, yes...it is all becoming clear now:
Jack's drunken dad snuffed some poor girl on the operating table. Said girl was pregnant. Since no mention was made about her baby surviving, it's safe to assume it didn't.
Said dearly departed baby is now to be reincarnated and emerge once again when Claire gives birth. Claire's baby is, therefore, the reincarnated baby of the poor ol' dead girl.
The psychic Claire visited knew this would happen and that's why he insisted that she go on the trip. The wierdos on the island also know that Claire's baby is the reincarnation of another person's baby. Maybe the poor ol' dead girl had some connection to the island or maybe the island wierdos are simply looking for a mystical miracle to lead them. Or maybe they just want to play choo choo with the kid.
Either way, I'm betting that the new kid will be exceptional in some way or another. Maybe it'll already be potty trained.
I'm hopin' Claire will name the kid Fred.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
....on the other hand, ya see one reincarnated baby, ya seen 'em all.DriftWood
Interesting... what are we going to do with you, Drift?
Jacksgirlfriend
You scoff, and yet this theory sounds strangely plausible, right? Was it the "Fred" thing that turned you off? Babies need names and I was simply suggesting one. Of course, if the baby is female, we'd have to name her "Stan."
------------------------------------------------------------------------
...and (it has been pointed out to me), Jack will now have the opportunity to save the baby he LOST on the operating table, and that the new baby will then be "raised by others."But...who will teach it how to play choo-choo?
DriftWood
Strangley plausible? Yes I imagine so - in the same way that Claire being Alex is "strangley plausible".
If this is the case, then this is one important baby since his/her soul needs to be plunked into any pregnant woman around. What significance do you see?
Jacksgirlfriend
Drift- Good Call.
Now when Claire dies (and she will die), Charlie will get a second chance to save the baby's life and the child will truely be raised by another.
SecretSquirrel911
AH, JGF, you ask for significance...ALL babies are significant, especially the reincarnated ones. They get all the best toys (twice).
DriftWood
Yes, all babies are significant, but this one must be extra special. Significant in what way? What do you see as the future of this baby?
Jacksgirlfriend
This baby shall lead them from the wilderness into the brave new world and shall guide them on their spiritual awakening.
Or, it will just poop a lot and wake up the neighborhood with its infernal screetching.
DriftWood
That's Drift - always looking on the bright side.
Jacksgirlfriend
Ahh, I'm so happy, I knew I'd find you crazy theorists around here somewhere. I got LOST for a bit in all the Domfangirlsqueeness.
It's good to be back
Like your theory Drift, that's a keeper!
jjabramizeme
See? Sometimes I make sense, even though I try not to.

It's a curse, Drift. You'll just have to work twice as hard to confuse us.Jacksgirlfriend
And here's more:
Ethan and the others were all reincarnated beings, and something went wrong with the process devised by the Frenchies so now they are all creepy evil little warts. They want to raise the new reincarnated baby Claire is carrying to help correct the gene pool.
And they also want to play choo choo with it.
DriftWood
Hey Drift where do they get the choo choo from?? They are on and island with no Wal-Mart right around the corner...
Or ARE they?
star2954
Potty mouth trained??
cccourt
You all scoff, but the Vegas line that I am right is 3 to 2.
DriftWood
What is this? Days Of Our Lives? Reincarnation sounds like soap writing. So the psychic knows jack? I dunno...non of that made any sense to me.
