Here is a link to a series pitch that was made to the networks long before Lost was put on the air.
While it doesn't specifically mention a plane crash, the characters, plot and ideas are definately closely related.

Wow, that's a big assumption.. I don't see the relation to Lost, myself, although it was a slightly interesting concept.

I believe that all of the crash victims are truly dead. They are all in some kind of purgatory.
This would explain a LOT!
This would be the same kind of plot twist that "The Sixth Sense" was written about.
This is why the man who was crippled before the accident is now able to walk, among MANY other explanations. Just think about it...........
This theory is widely spoken about on other message boards. I am really surprised that I havent seen it here. (However, that doesn't mean that the theory isn't here somewhere...it just means that I havent found it....lol!)

Went back and read the link. Very interesting concept - wish I would have thought it myself. It definitely has possibilities. If it's yours I would be shopping it around. Now seems like perfect timing. Maybe someone will see it on this board... good luck.

No, it isn't my work. Just something that I stumbled on.
The idea and characters are very close to the Lost show. It could have been "tweaked" to make a good tv program.
The title of "Lost" tells me that they are all lost souls....Just my humble opinion. However, I've been wrong before! lol

However, there are plenty of posters supporting theories that are supposedly nixed by JJAbrams' statements, plus pinnerman (theorist and research guru around here) has just posted something that may disprove JJAbrams' nixing of supernatural stuff...

Ohhhhh, I see.
I wouldn't imagine that the show's creator would be 100% truthful if it meant that the show's "secrets" were being revealed.
I really think that they are in some kind of purgatory. Of course, I've been wrong before!
